Tai Chi Chuan

Instruction and Practice of Wu Style

The series of slow movements one usually associates with Tai Chi Chuan are known as “The Form” or “The Chuan”. The Form, which is the basis for training, encompasses aspects of meditation, health and the martial arts. Balance and coordination, a relaxed, yet focused, mind and a healthy, resiliant body are all cultivated by the practice of Tai Chi Chuan. A practice trains the core motion, reactions and power generation of the practitioner, increasing that person’s martial potential.

There are books that can aid one in understanding the art of Tai Chi Chuan, but that is their limit. This is an art that must be learned from a proficient instructor.

An ongoing Tai Chi Chuan practice is offered at the Barnet Tradepost Annex with Jack Stewart, Instructor. All levels are welcome and practice together. Please visit our Activities Page for information and schedule.
